Sarah Stephen, M.OMSc., GDAO, ASTR LP
Pet and Equine Osteopathy
I grew up in North York and moved to a 31 acre farm just outside of Mount Forest where my love of animals grew. We raised cattle, sheep, rabbits, chickens, and laying hens. We had plenty of barn cats and dogs that became my best friends. My love for horses grew when my parents purchased my very own horse, Special Franny Mae. I look back at those fond memories with gratitude because it brought me to this very moment.
It is my great pleasure that I am able to offer your dog, cat, horse and farm animal gentle hands on care to bring them comfort and ease.
Sarah Stephen is a dedicated Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and an inspiring educator with a deep passion for helping individuals achieve optimal health and well-being. Being an avid athlete, Sarah was drawn to the process of healing post injury. Her journey began at Brock University with Health Sciences and after her second year decided to look into more of a manual approach to injury prevention. Sarah enrolled into Massage Therapy School where her passion for the healing ability of the body flourished and graduated in 2003. She went on to continue her education with certifications in Reflexology and Energywork, which still add great value to her work today. Sarah’s desire to evolve her skills as a manual health practitioner was achieved when she decided to challenge herself and enroll in Osteopathic school with the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO), in Hamilton. It was an intense four years of challenging the mind, body and soul and was quite rewarding. In 2015, Sarah earned her diploma in Masters in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc.) and gained a vast amount of knowledge in osteopathic principles and techniques. Sarah has since continued her passion and education in Craniosacral Therapy, Pediatrics, Energywork and Animal Osteopathy and Rehabilitation.
Sarah’s other passion is in Animal welfare. Growing up on a farm, she learned the importance of healthy animals and pets. It was inevitable that she continued her education and achieved her Graduate Diploma in Animal Osteopathy, in 2001, through the CAO. Ever evolving and continuing her quest to offer the best care to her patients, she is furthering her knowledge with a certification in sport horse lameness and rehabilitation. Sarah’s 20 plus years of experience in the manual therapy field gives her a wonderful platform of knowledge to offer her Equine clients.
Her commitment to excellence and compassionate care has made her a respected member in her community and of the Ontario Association of Osteopathy (OAO). Sarah makes sure to bring balance into her life through spending time with her pup, Bowser, continuing to be mindful, grounding in nature, traveling out West and spending time with family and friends.
