Sarah Stephen, M.OMSc., GDAO

Sarah has been a health practitioner since 2003, when she began her career as a Registered Massage Therapist.  After years of treating clients with Massage Therapy, Reflexology and Reiki, she decided to return to school to learn another approach to treatment.

She attended the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, in Hamilton, where she was classically trained and in 2015 received her diploma in Masters in Osteopathic Manipulative Science.

Sarah has received her Graduate Diploma in Animal Osteopathy and will be offering services for your pet or horse.

She loves the challenge of searching for the root cause as to why something is occurring within the body and not chasing the effect.

Sarah continues to appreciate the natural healing ability of the body and its need for balance; body, mind and spirit.

Sarah is an active professional member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA) and the Canadian Institute of Classical Osteopathy (CICO).

Sarah makes sure to bring balance into her life through mindfulness, grounding in nature, reading, being active, time with family and friends and taking courses to further her learning.

Continued Care

Osteopathic treatments help the body get back to its balanced state.  Gently taking tension off muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, fascia and organs, provides freedom for proper communication of nerves, arteries, veins and lymphatics throughout the full body.  Every treatment is catered to the patient on the table, no two people are the same.  Osteopathy treats the cause, while relieving the symptoms.

Pediatrics

These little ones go through quite the journey, from having to grow and conform within the space provided and then having to pass through a narrow canal or abdominal opening.  Their cranial bones, spine and nervous system are all working together.  Any slight shift of the position of these structures creates disharmony within their whole system.  Gently taking tension off membranes allows the cranial bones to shift, on their own, back to their neutral position allowing for better communication of the cranial nerves and central nervous system.
Osteopathic treatments help with latching/sucking/feeding, colic/gassy, arching/increased sympathetic tone, unable to settle, torticollis/turning head one way, tummy time, sleeping/car seat issues, crawling/walking issues and more.

Testimonials

M.B.

“Sarah has a great approach to the body.  She just knows where to go intuitively to relieve my pain.  She has magic hands!”

G.S.

“I was feeling completely stiff and restrictive in my movement from a hockey fall and wasn't sleeping well.  Sarah knew exactly which parts of the body to adjust and after the treatment I felt completely relaxed and amazing."

S.S.

“I came to see Sarah specifically looking for help with a sliding Hiatal hernia.  She was extremely professional and put me at ease - explaining what she would be doing each step of the way.  My hernia is now much better - I would have needed to resort to surgery without treatment!  I'm very grateful that someone recommended I see her!”
